NINTH GRADE

Develop a four year academic plan

Meet your Counselor and begin establishing a relationship.

Keep your grades up so you can have the highest GPA possible
TENTH GRADE

Begin thinking about your interests, abilities, personality, values and what career and post-high school options might be the best fit for you
ELEVENTH GRADE

Take the PSAT/NMSQT. This test is used for qualifying students for National Merit Scholarships

Begin thinking about criteria important to you (size, location, distance from home, majors, public or private)

Visit colleges of interest

Take the ACT and/or SAT and/or TSIA2
-
Begin collecting college application information
TWELFTH GRADE
-
Complete applications to the colleges of your choice before October 1st

Continue to take a full load of courses

Retake the SAT and/or ACT and/or TSIA2 if necessary

Meet with your Counselor to complete the college admission process

Research and apply for scholarships and financial aid

Notify your Counselor of all acceptance notifications from Colleges / Universities

Notify your Counselor of all scholarship and financial aid notification awards

Make final plans about what college or university to attend and notify schools of your intent by the designated deadlines
